Norton Jr.’s collegiate résumé reads like a masterclass in defensive mastery. As a First Team All‑American, he anchored UCLA’s defense, leading the team in tackles in both 1986 and 1987. John Lee, meanwhile, carved his name into the record books with a kicking accuracy that still stands unmatched. He holds NCAA records for field‑goal percentage and remains the program’s all‑time leader in made field goals across a single game, a season, and a career. His reliability earned him a second‑round selection in the 1986 NFL Draft, where he transitioned his collegiate precision to the professional ranks.
