Jacob Sampson, a former youth soccer coach for Howell Area Parks and Recreation Authority, was taken into custody in late July after investigators determined he had sexually exploited a six‑year‑old girl.
Federal authorities say a search of Sampson’s electronic devices uncovered a trove of child pornography, including explicit images and videos of the victim’s genitals that had been stored on a Dropbox account.
Court Date Set Amid Ongoing Investigation
The girl’s father revealed the abuse to law enforcement, prompting a warrant that led to the discovery of the illicit material on Sampson’s phone.
Although the recreation authority conducted a standard background check and found no prior complaints, the organization later confirmed that Sampson had passed the screening process.
Sampson is scheduled to appear in court for an arraignment hearing on August 11, where prosecutors plan to outline the full scope of the alleged offenses.
