The State Games of Mississippi, now in its 34th year, brings together elite amateur athletes from across the state for a multi‑sport showcase that culminates each June.
A Talented Quartet
Germantown's baseball program celebrated a rare achievement when four of its rising stars—Tate Farmer, Jase Ryals, Ashby Raburn and Maddox Perry—earned spots on the tournament roster.
Raburn and Perry, both juniors, enjoyed standout seasons, with Raburn batting .318 and driving in 23 runs while adding two home runs, and Perry posting a .295 average and 18 RBIs.
Ryals and Farmer, sophomores, also contributed significantly, combining a .301 average and 17 RBIs for Ryals with a .217 average and four RBIs for Farmer.
Tournament Details
The opening ceremony took place on June 5 in downtown Meridian, setting the stage for competition that will run from June 15 through June 18 at Meridian Community College.
While baseball features prominently, the Games encompass more than 40 sports—including basketball, golf, soccer, chess, cornhole, disc golf, bowling and equestrian events—drawing participants and spectators from across Mississippi.
Local organizers say the event not only highlights athletic prowess but also reinforces community ties, offering youth a platform to compete at a state‑level while showcasing the region’s sporting heritage.
