For the first time, four of Ohio’s most prominent college basketball programs will step outside the usual indoor confines of their arenas to compete on an open-air court. Ohio State, the University of Cincinnati, the University of Dayton and Xavier University are scheduled to meet on October 7 at the Lindner Family Tennis Center, a venue best known for hosting the Cincinnati Open.
The event forms the centerpiece of the CareSource Invitational, a charitable initiative that seeks to shine a light on mental health and suicide prevention. Coach Jake Diebler of Ohio State expressed genuine enthusiasm, emphasizing how the gathering will bring the state’s basketball community together around a cause that transcends the scoreboard.

Diebler noted that the novelty of playing outdoors evokes memories of childhood games on neighborhood courts, a sentiment that resonates with many fans who grew up watching the sport in open spaces.
