Karlos May, a four-star defensive lineman out of Ramsay High School in Birmingham, announced his college decision on Tuesday, confirming that he will join the Ohio State Buckeyes.

May trimmed his list to three programs — Ohio State, Auburn, and Georgia — before revealing his final choice, ending a recruitment that had drawn attention from analysts such as Steve Wiltfong and Chad Simmons.
The commitment lifts Ohio State to No. 7 in the Rivals 2027 national rankings and No. 2 within the Big Ten, underscoring the program’s continued dominance in the Midwest.
Auburn, despite missing out on May, remains active in the state, having secured four of Alabama’s top eleven 2027 prospects, including Isaac McNeil and Dashawn Hall, and currently sits at No. 12 nationally and No. 6 in the SEC.
The Tigers’ class now includes 25 commitments, a haul that reflects a strong regional pipeline even as national rankings shift.
Recruiting analysts note that the ripple effects of May’s decision will be felt across the SEC, with other top Alabama prospects still weighing their options.
