Gordon will be leaving Plainfield High School to spend his senior year at Spire Academy in Ohio, a move that has drawn attention from analysts tracking the 2027 class. According to 247Sports he sits at No. 7 among point guards and No. 35 overall in that class.
The Volunteers currently have only two scholarships available after two players exhausted their eligibility, a situation that could open the door for multiple newcomers. The coaching staff is positioning itself to capitalize on that flexibility.
The visit follows an earlier official trip by Antonio Pemberton, making Gordon the second four-star point guard to explore Tennessee this season. The program is courting a quartet of additional guards — Justin Wise, Chris Brown, Malachi Jordan and Davis Cochran — who are all high-profile prospects.

While no commitments have been secured yet for the 2027 class, the Volunteers are leveraging their limited roster depth to attract top talent, hoping that the promise of playing time and a strong developmental environment will sway the recruits.
