Four-star offensive tackle Q'Mari Hudson announced his commitment to the University of Tennessee on Wednesday, securing a spot in the Volunteers' 2027 recruiting class.
A standout prospect from Virginia
Hudson, a 6‑foot‑5, 300‑pound lineman from Western Branch High School in Chesapeake, Virginia, is ranked No. 33 among offensive tackles nationally and No. 9 in the state by Rivals.
Recruiting timeline
The Volunteers first offered Hudson on March 30, and he has since visited the campus twice, including an official trip on June 5 and an upcoming unofficial visit scheduled for June 19.
A competitive recruitment
Syracuse was the first program to extend a scholarship on Feb. 12, 2025, but Hudson also received offers from Wake Forest, Old Dominion, Marshall, East Carolina, Liberty, North Carolina State, West Virginia, Maryland, Penn State, Appalachian State, Cincinnati, Kentucky, Pittsburgh, North Carolina Central and Wayne State before narrowing his choices.
Class composition
Tennessee now has 15 pledges in its 2027 class, a group that could shape the future of the program's front line and add depth to the offensive line.
Future outlook
Hudson's decision reflects the growing appeal of the Volunteers' coaching staff and facilities, and it signals a potential uptick in the team's performance on the line in the coming years.
