Four-star athlete Jaxton Itaaehau announced his commitment to the University of Utah on Wednesday, becoming the first four-star recruit to join head coach Morgan Scalley’s 2027 class.
A Family Legacy Rewritten
Ranked 16th nationally and fourth among prospects in Utah, Itaaehau chose the Utes over a slate of offers that included Colorado, Boise State, Oregon State and Utah State.
The commitment marks a significant milestone for Scalley’s recruiting efforts, representing the inaugural four-star pledge of his tenure and underscoring Utah’s growing appeal on the high school circuit.
Itaaehau’s father, Sam Itaaehau, played for the Utes in the early 2000s and shared the locker room with Scalley, adding a personal narrative that resonated with the recruit.
Expressing enthusiasm for the next chapter, Itaaehau said he looks forward to building on his family’s legacy in Salt Lake City and contributing to the program’s future successes.
