A Commitment That Raises Expectations
Jai Jones, a 6‑foot‑2, 175‑pound receiver from Chandler, Arizona, announced his decision to join the University of Wisconsin football program on May 31, following an official visit to Madison.
The four‑star prospect narrowed his choices to the Badgers, Arizona and California, ultimately electing to stay in the Midwest where he will play under head coach Paul Chryst.
Jones revealed that he had received 26 Division I scholarship offers, including 17 from Power Four conferences, and that Big Ten rivals such as Oregon, Washington, Nebraska, Iowa, Indiana, Minnesota and UCLA had all courted his talents.
His commitment lifts Wisconsin’s 2027 recruiting class to No. 17 in the 247sports national ranking, while the Rivals/On3 composite places the group at No. 24, underscoring the impact of his pledge on the program’s trajectory.
The Badgers now have 19 players on campus for official visits, a cohort that includes the 13 athletes who had previously pledged to the program, signaling a deepening pipeline of talent for the upcoming season.
Jones, who is projected to contribute immediately at the receiver position, joins a recruiting class that coach Chryst hopes will restore the Badgers to contention in the competitive Big Ten landscape.
