Jayden Miles, a four-star running back from Baton Rouge Catholic High School, announced his commitment to Florida State University on Wednesday, securing a spot in the 2027 recruiting class for the Seminoles.
Ranked No. 373 overall and No. 27 among running backs by Rivals' industry rankings, Miles is also the No. 13 prospect in Louisiana, making his decision a significant boost for the program's national standing.
His junior season was prolific, as he amassed 1,657 all-purpose yards and scored 24 touchdowns, underscoring his versatility and playmaking ability.
A Recruitment Fueled by Early Interest
Florida State was the first program to extend an offer to Miles back in May 2024, a move that laid the groundwork for a relationship that would later culminate in his pledge. The visit to Tallahassee on May 29 proved pivotal, as it shifted momentum in the Seminoles' favor.
Miles also toured the Ohio State campus, but after weighing his options, he concluded that the culture and coaching staff at FSU aligned best with his ambitions.
Other programs such as LSU, Auburn and Texas Tech expressed strong interest, but the decisive factor was the personal connection forged with the coaching staff, particularly running backs coach Kam Martin, who played a central role in securing the commitment.
The commitment marks the fourth blue-chip recruit that Florida State has landed for the 2027 cycle, reinforcing the program's upward trajectory in the national recruiting landscape.
