Summer Circuit Showcase
Fourteen members of the Mount St. Mary's baseball team for the 2026 season have been assigned to a diverse set of summer collegiate leagues across the United States, a move that underscores the program’s expanding reach.
The assignments span six distinct leagues: the Old North State League, the Prospect League, the Valley Baseball League, the Futures Collegiate League, the New York Collegiate Baseball League and the New England Collegiate Baseball League. Each circuit offers a high‑profile platform for rising talent to compete against top college players from coast to coast.
Among the participants, several standout players have found homes in notable clubs. Mike Arndt and Mike Giamartino are slated to wear the Syracuse Salt Cats uniform in the New York Collegiate Baseball League, while Adam Gessler will also compete for the same team. Dominic Haas joins the Alexandria Aces in the Cal Ripken Sr. Collegiate Baseball League, and Rees Heigle will suit up for the Upper Valley Nighthawks in the New England Collegiate Baseball League.
Other Mount St. Mary's prospects are dispersed across the map: AJ Delaney and Brody Melton will play for the Winchester Royals and the Staunton Braves respectively in the Valley League Baseball, while Evan Meier and Riley Williams are set to face off in the New England Collegiate Baseball League with the North Adams SteepleCats and the Valley Blue Sox. The roster also includes Tom Menar, who will return to the Syracuse Salt Cats, and Robbie Murphy, who will compete in the Old North State League with the Sandhills Bogeys.
The breadth of league representation reflects a strategic effort by the university’s coaching staff to expose players to varied competitive environments, from the high‑stakes atmosphere of the Futures League, where Phoenix Williams will face the Nashua Silver Knights, to the historic settings of the Valley and Old North State leagues.
Coach commentary highlighted that the experience will not only sharpen athletic skills but also foster personal growth as the athletes navigate travel, new teammates and different baseball cultures.
As the summer progresses, the performance of these players will be closely watched by scouts and college coaches alike, potentially influencing future scholarships and professional prospects.
