A reshaped roster of voices
Fox Sports unveiled its 2026 college football broadcast schedule this week, confirming a slate that largely retains the talent that has defined its coverage over recent years while introducing a handful of high‑profile moves.
In the network’s No. 2 booth, Connor Onion will step into the role vacated by Jason Benetti, joining Robert Griffin III and Alexa Landestoy as the on‑air trio for the upcoming season.
The No. 1 booth remains anchored by Gus Johnson, Joel Klatt and Jenny Taft, ensuring continuity for the flagship presentation.
Big Noon Kickoff and Barstool’s expanded role
Big Noon Kickoff, the flagship weekend studio show, will see its core lineup of Rob Stone, Brady Quinn, Matt Leinart, Mark Ingram and Urban Meyer stay in place, with Rob Gronkowski added as a regular contributor and Dave Portnoy returning for a second season as part of the Fox‑Barstool partnership.
The Barstool College Football Show will also make its return alongside Big Noon Kickoff on select weekends, airing from 9 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. ET on Barstool‑owned platforms and on Fox’s digital properties, with Dan "Big Cat" Katz slated to appear regularly.
New pairings and upcoming schedule
New booth pairings include Mark Helfrich working alongside Jack Kizer, while Petros Papadakis is paired with newly hired Denver Nuggets play‑by‑play voice Noah Reed; Robert Smith and Dan Hellie will also call games together.
The opening weekend schedule features Petros Papadakis and Noah Reed on Friday, September 4, at 8 p.m. ET on FS1 for the Toledo‑Michigan State matchup, followed on Saturday, September 5, at 10 p.m. ET by Central Michigan‑New Mexico on FS1.
Mike Hill will continue to anchor Fox Sports’ college football coverage from Los Angeles, where he will be joined by analyst Bruce Feldman and former Washington head coach Chris Petersen; Clay Travis will make select appearances during marquee games.
The announcement also noted the absence of Trent Rush and Will Blackmon from the lineup; Blackmon, after being let go from Good Morning Football when ESPN took over NFL Network, is now shifting to the Pac‑12, while Rush has taken over as the Angels’ No. 2 play‑by‑play voice behind Wayne Randazzo following Patrick O’Neal’s exit.
