Hanson’s offensive philosophy centers on a run‑heavy Power‑T formation that lines up three backs on every snap, a scheme designed to spread carries and keep defenses guessing.
Replacing a Legend
The departure of Bryson Allen, the two‑time 2A SPSL MVP and 2,000‑yard rusher, leaves a sizable void, but the coaching staff sees an opportunity to diversify the backfield.
Senior running back Carter Gregory emerges as the leading candidate to inherit Allen’s workload, having posted an average of roughly 12 yards per carry in the previous season.
Orcutt’s Comeback Adds a New Dimension
Returning quarterback Jeremiah Orcutt, who missed part of the prior year with a sports hernia, is expected to contribute both as a passer and a receiver, adding a dual‑threat dimension to the attack.
The offensive line will be anchored by four seniors, including Ian Swaney and Anthony Aloisio, who have helped refine the Power‑T scheme from middle school through high school.
Coaching Staff and Schedule
Defensive coordinator Andy Armstrong and offensive coordinator Cody Copeland round out a coaching staff that believes the new scheme can sustain the team’s recent run of success.
The Cardinals open the season on September 3 at Lynden Christian before traveling to face Peninsula, Clover Park, Fife, Steilacoom, Foss, Eatonville and Orting, a schedule that promises tough regional matchups.
