The Fred & Maria Loya Family YMCA in El Paso, Texas, has completed a $200,000 renovation of its soccer complex, a project made possible by a grant from the U.S. Soccer Foundation.
The upgraded facility now includes two pitches: a child‑friendly field equipped with mini nets and a full‑size adult field, designed to accommodate a wide range of participants.
With capacity to host up to 200 children or twenty teams, the complex aims to meet growing demand for outdoor recreation among local families.
Anthony Noga, the YMCA’s senior sports director, emphasized the center’s inclusive spirit, noting that the “membership for all” policy allows anyone to join regardless of ability to pay.
Gilda Gil, president of the Loya Family Branch, highlighted the timing of the project, stating that more families are seeking safe, structured activities for their children.
