Freddie Schneider, a 2009‑born forward from Edina, Minnesota, has pledged to join the University of Minnesota’s men’s hockey program, adding a locally sourced talent to the roster.
Schneider, who will be part of the 2028 recruiting class, stands 5‑foot‑11 and weighs 163 pounds, offering a compact yet dynamic presence on the ice.
His junior‑level résumé includes two goals and nine assists in 27 games with the USNTDP Juniors, as well as a more prolific 10‑goal, 14‑assist performance in 43 appearances for the U.S. National U17 Team.
He will not be alone in the incoming class; the Gophers also secured commitments from Luca Jarvis, Ben Geiger and Broden McArthur, each of whom have demonstrated promise in their respective junior leagues.
Jarvis, who tallied 21 points in 56 games for the Tri‑City Storm, is slated to compete for the Spokane Chiefs during the 2026‑27 season, while Geiger posted a goal and four assists in 39 USHL games and contributed 12 points in 56 outings for the U.S. National U17 Team.
McArthur, another USNTDP Juniors alum, recorded nine goals in 37 games and will continue his development with the Erie Otters in the upcoming campaign.
A Look Ahead
The commitments round out a five‑player cohort in the 2027 recruiting cycle that is anchored by forward Wyatt Cullen, signaling Minnesota’s intent to maintain a competitive pipeline.
Coaches and analysts view the class as a strong foundation for future success, noting that the blend of home‑grown talent and proven junior performers could bolster the program’s depth and competitiveness.
