Free Football Skills Camp Returns to Whiteville
The third annual free football skills camp, organized by FITGANG@7GANG in partnership with Fast Twitch Academy, will take place on July 18 at Central Middle School in Whiteville, North Carolina.
The event brings together a roster of seasoned coaches, including former quarterback Earl Harvey, who set CIAA passing records at Douglas Byrd, wide‑receiver Chris Corders from N.C. State, and Patrick Lennon, the 1986 Whiteville High School Athlete of the Year.
Additional instruction will be provided by former Whiteville High School basketball coach Glenn McKoy, as well as Tony Holmes and Lynn Muldrow, who will help run drills and share expertise.
Local standouts Nikotis Gordan and Cee Jai Batten will assist the coaches, offering mentorship to participants of all ages.
The camp is open to athletes of every age group and aims to sharpen fundamentals while fostering community spirit. Organizers say the program reflects a broader commitment to youth development in the region.
Beyond the field, the initiative highlights the area’s rich sports heritage, linking present talent with alumni from institutions such as N. C. Central University, Wingate University and Winston‑Salem State University, all of which have been cited in promotional materials.
Parents and community members are encouraged to attend and support the free event, which underscores the collaborative effort between local schools, former collegiate athletes and regional organizations.
