Notre Dame head coach Marcus Freeman remains bullish about the prospects of seeing Charles Jagusah back on the field before the start of the upcoming season.

The 2024 offensive lineman suffered a fractured humerus in a utility‑vehicle accident in Wyoming more than a year ago, a setback that has kept him sidelined for the better part of 54 weeks.
Despite the lengthy recovery, Jagusah has set his sights on making a comeback as early as this fall, though he acknowledges he will not be ready to open the season as a starter.
Freeman has repeatedly highlighted the player’s mental fortitude, noting that Jagusah has endured not only the physical toll of the injury but also personal losses that have tested his resolve.
The lineman has already undergone five surgeries, the most recent a bone graft performed on March 18, as doctors work to rebuild the damaged humerus.
Once he is fully cleared, Jagusah could compete for minutes at either guard or tackle, adding depth to a unit that has been reshaped over the past two seasons.
