A French prospect joins the Racers
Talis Soulhac, a 19‑year‑old point guard from France, has signed with Murray State University’s men’s basketball program for the 2026‑27 season. The move follows a standout year with ADA Blois Basket 41 in the French ProB league, where he earned the Best Young Player award in ELITE 2.
Coach Ryan Miller praised the newcomer, describing Soulhac as an exceptional floor general whose basketball IQ and playmaking ability set him apart. Miller highlighted the player’s maturity and international experience as assets that will enrich the team’s dynamics.
Soulhac will be joined on the roster by fellow French teammates Roman Domon, Mathis Courbon and Jonas Boulefaa, forming a small but cohesive contingent of overseas talent. Their presence reflects the Racers’ continued emphasis on scouting globally for players who can contribute immediately.
During the 2025‑26 campaign, Soulhac averaged 12.2 points and 3.8 assists per game, numbers that helped France reach the Round of 16 in the U19 World Cup. In that tournament he posted 9.5 points, 2.8 rebounds and 3.5 assists across six games, underscoring his ability to perform on big stages.
International experience underscores his potential
The young guard’s résumé includes a Best Young Player accolade in the French second division and a key role in France’s U19 World Cup campaign. Such achievements have positioned him among the highest‑rated U19 point guards worldwide, making his transition to NCAA Division I an anticipated storyline for the upcoming season.
