Freshman All‑American Honors Announced
The 2026 Freshman All‑American team has been unveiled, and two Texas prospects have secured the coveted first‑team spots. Their selections reflect a blend of offensive firepower and pitching dominance that has defined the early season narrative for the Longhorns.
Anthony Pack Jr., an outfielder for the University of Texas, topped Power Four freshmen in on‑base percentage, walks and stolen bases. He also ranked third nationally among his class in batting average, hits, weighted runs created plus and weighted on‑base average. Pack added 12 home runs and 56 runs batted in, highlighted by a three‑homer performance in the postseason, and became the first SEC freshman to post a .400 average in conference play since 2016.
Right‑hander Sam Cozart matched Pack’s impact on the mound, leading all Division I pitchers in WHIP and batting average against. His 6‑0 record paired with nine saves ties him for the most wins and saves by any freshman nationwide, and he fanned 77 batters over 52 ⅓ innings while posting the second‑lowest earned run average in the division.
