A New Chapter for Fresno City College Athletics
Fresno City College will hold a press conference on May 26, 2026, to formally introduce Josh Brown as its new Head Football Coach and Dr. David Santesteban as the Head Men’s Soccer Coach. The event will bring together campus leaders, alumni and local media to highlight the college’s renewed focus on athletic excellence and student‑athlete development.
Brown arrives with more than two decades of collegiate experience, having most recently served as co‑defensive coordinator at Sacramento State and defensive coordinator at Cal Poly. His career is distinguished by a deep expertise in defensive schemes and a track record of shaping disciplined, competitive units.
Dr. Santesteban, a former student‑athlete who played for Fresno City College between 1987 and 1988, returns to the campus after earning a Ph.D. in Sports Administration from the University of New Mexico and obtaining a U.S. Soccer Federation “A” Coaching License. His blend of playing experience and academic credentials positions him to guide the program with both tactical insight and scholarly rigor.
Both coaches have emphasized their commitment to mentoring student‑athletes, promising transformative opportunities that bridge the classroom and the playing field. Their appointments reflect the college’s broader mission to foster holistic growth and to sustain the success of its 23 intercollegiate teams.
