Fresno State’s football program is experiencing a recruiting renaissance, as the Bulldogs lock in some of the Valley’s most coveted high school stars.
Homegrown Playmakers Join the Bulldogs
The latest commitment, wide receiver Bayon Harris from Central East, adds a proven playmaker to the 2027 class, joining a group that also features Demaje Riley, AJ Williams, Grant Moser, Relando Jefferson IV and Austin Plaza.
Riley, who amassed 1,519 receiving yards and 13 touchdowns at Central East, brings a track record of production against elite competition, while Williams, after a standout season at Hanford High, transferred to Clovis West and posted 896 yards and 10 scores.
Defensive standout Grant Moser recorded 40 tackles, eight tackles for loss, six pass breakups and two interceptions, and Austin Plaza, listed at 6‑foot‑2 and 295 pounds, projects as a physical offensive lineman who excels in pass protection.
Analysts Praise Foundation but Call for Continued Aggression
National recruiting analyst Brandon Huffman notes that while the current class lays a solid groundwork, the program must keep the momentum alive by aggressively pursuing additional local prospects.
Coaches emphasize an ‘offer, recruit and land’ philosophy, targeting players who have demonstrated they can thrive on big stages, a strategy that aligns with the Bulldogs’ ambition to build a competitive, home‑grown roster.
The influx of talent not only energizes the fan base but also positions Fresno State to compete more strongly in the Mountain West and beyond.
