Friday Night Football Returns to Duke
Duke University's football program has announced a significant shift for the 2026 season, moving two of its scheduled games to Friday evenings. The change places a spotlight on the Blue Devils as they prepare for a pair of high‑stakes matchups that will be broadcast nationally.
The first of those Friday night contests will see Duke travel to Charlottesville to face Virginia on October 23, reviving a rivalry that culminated in the 2025 ACC Championship Game. A little over a month later, on November 20, the Blue Devils will host Clemson at Wallace Wade Stadium, marking a much‑anticipated showdown against the Tigers.
While the schedule adjustment has generated excitement among fans, the university has emphasized that kickoff times, television designations and other production details for the first three weeks of the season, as well as all Thursday and Friday games, will be revealed on Wednesday, May 27. Until then, supporters can stay tuned for further updates from the athletics department.
