Harmoni Turner, a 2025 graduate of Harvard University, entered the professional basketball arena with high expectations after being selected 35th overall by the Las Vegas Aces in the recent draft.
A Journey Marked by Perseverance
Her early pro experience was marked by two waivers from the WNBA and a stint in France with Landerneau Bretagne Basket, where she earned a place on the Eurobasket.com All‑French League second team and posted averages of 15.5 points, 6.6 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 1.7 steals per game.
After returning to the United States, Turner signed with the Connecticut Sun, only to be waived again in July 2026 for medical reasons. The setbacks have not dampened her resolve; instead, they have fueled a relentless focus on refining her game and proving her worth.
Off the court, Turner’s journey is underscored by a supportive network that includes her Harvard mentors and teammates, who celebrated her draft selection at a gathering hosted by Carrie Moore. The camaraderie extends to fellow WNBA stars such as A’ja Wilson, Chelsea Gray and Brittney Griner, whose own careers echo the challenges and triumphs of navigating a competitive league.
Now training with the UPSHOT League’s Savannah Steel, Turner continues to blend the discipline honed at Harvard with the tactical savvy gained overseas, aiming to secure a permanent spot in the WNBA and contribute to the growing visibility of the sport.
