Musa Jallow’s path to the hardwood has been anything but straightforward. Once a promising college forward at Ohio State, he endured a series of surgeries that threatened to end his basketball ambitions.
A Call From the Past
A late‑night phone call from a former teammate set the wheels in motion. The invitation to join the Starlites in Malta arrived just as Jallow was contemplating a career in medicine, and the prospect of a fresh start on a sun‑drenched island proved irresistible.
During his lone season in Malta, Jallow averaged 18 points, 10.1 rebounds, 3.3 assists, 2.4 steals and 1.3 blocks per game while shooting 57% from the field and 72% at the line. The team finished the regular season unbeaten at 15‑0, and his performances culminated in a Super Cup Final victory that earned him the tournament’s MVP award.
Training for the Next Level
Now preparing for a more competitive league, Jallow has signed with an agent who is scouting opportunities across Europe and Asia. He credits his family’s unwavering support and his faith as the steady forces that have guided him through injury, rehabilitation and the transition from college to professional play.
Off the court, Jallow continues to give back, coaching a high‑school team and participating in pickup games that keep his love for the sport alive. His journey, he says, feels surreal — a testament to resilience, luck and the unexpected turns that can redefine a career.
