Cordell Volson, a fifth‑year offensive guard, signed with the Tennessee Titans in 2025 after four seasons with the Cincinnati Bengals, positioning himself for a competition at right guard in his first year with the franchise.
Born in Balfour, North Dakota, a town of just 27 residents, Volson attended Drake‑Anamoose High School where he lettered in football, basketball and also contributed on defense.
He earned a scholarship to North Dakota State University, where he added roughly 50 pounds to his frame and earned first‑team FCS All‑America honors, drawing the attention of NFL scouts.
Professional Journey
During his tenure in Cincinnati, Volson started 16 games as a rookie in 2022 and 17 games in 2023, primarily at left guard, before a shoulder injury forced him to miss the entire 2025 season.
Titans assistant general manager Dave Ziegler has highlighted Volson’s size, toughness and experience as key attributes that could help him earn a starting role in Tennessee.
Family and Community
Off the field, Volson shares his life with his wife Gracee, whom he married two years earlier; both graduated from a class of just 13 students and together they operate the “Small Town, Big Dreams” foundation, which provides opportunities for rural youth.
He also credits his older brother Tanner Volson, who briefly played for the Chargers, and his parents, who owned an excavating company in North Dakota, for instilling a relentless work ethic that defines his approach to the game.
Looking ahead, Volson says his love for football remains undiminished; he is focused on maximizing every snap, improving his technique and contributing to the Titans’ success both on and off the field.
