Florida State University is gearing up for a pivotal Atlantic Coast Conference matchup, and the buzz around its football program was amplified this week when two highly touted recruits stepped onto the Tallahassee campus.
Campus Visit Highlights
The visit of three‑star defensive lineman Errol Demontagnac and three‑star linebacker Theo Wilson gave the Seminoles a rare glimpse of the talent they hope to add to a defense that has been a focal point of recruiting strategy for the 2027 class.
Demontagnac, a 6‑foot‑4, 260‑pound prospect from Armwood High School, arrived for a junior day in January, accepted an offer from Florida State in April, and ultimately signed with the Nebraska Cornhuskers in June, a move that has left the Seminoles’ defensive line coach Terrance Knighton and defensive coordinator Tony White still monitoring his progress.
On the same day, linebacker Theo Wilson, also a three‑star recruit from Armwood, toured the facilities, received an offer from the Seminoles, and later committed to the North Carolina Tar Heels in June, despite sustained recruitment attempts by linebacker coach Ernie Sims.
Ranked No. 801 overall and No. 93 among defensive linemen, Demontagnac represents a potential boost to the interior line, while Wilson, listed at No. 504 nationally and No. 38 at linebacker, could shore up the second level of FSU’s defense.
With the 2027 recruiting cycle on the horizon, the coaching staff views both players as key targets for possible decommitments, believing that their athleticism and experience could transform Florida State’s defensive unit into a more disruptive force in the ACC.
