A Historic Opportunity for the Seminoles
The Doak Walker Award, presented each year by the PwC SMU Athletic Forum, honors the most outstanding college running back, and this season Florida State has placed both Ousmane Kromah and Quintrevion Wisner on the watch list.
Kromah, entering his sophomore year, built on a freshman campaign that saw him rush for 408 yards on 72 carries and add 147 receiving yards, showcasing the versatility that has earned him the starting role over Samuel Singleton Jr.
Wisner arrives in Tallahassee after a productive stint with the Texas Longhorns, where he logged 1,734 rushing yards and nine touchdowns while also contributing 457 receiving yards, bringing a blend of power and experience to the Seminoles backfield.
What makes the presence of two Seminoles on the list notable is the rarity of such representation; FSU is one of only seven schools nationwide and the sole Atlantic Coast Conference program with multiple candidates, and no Florida State player has ever captured the award.
The winner will be revealed on December 10 during The Home Depot College Football Awards on ESPN, a moment that could mark the program’s first-ever Doak Walker recipient.
