A Summer Opportunity for Young Female Athletes
The Future of Flag 2026 Girls Flag Football Camp will take place over two days in July at the River City Sportsplex in Midlothian, Virginia, offering a unique platform for girls in grades three through twelve to learn and compete.
Organized by the nonprofit Future of Flag, a branch of Integrity Youth Performance, the camp seeks to fill a gap in training, exposure and mentorship for young female athletes who traditionally have limited access to structured flag football programs.
Camp director Alyssa Johnson emphasizes that the event is designed to develop not only athletic skills but also confidence and leadership, providing a clear pathway from middle school to high school, college and beyond.
Participants will rotate through skills stations, engage in team games and culminate their experience in a final tournament where teams can earn trophies and rings, underscoring the competitive spirit of the rapidly growing sport.
The camp will feature college coaches, current women’s flag football players and community leaders who will share insights and mentor the next generation of athletes, reinforcing the sport’s expanding footprint at the high school and collegiate levels.
Open to all experience levels, the two‑day session runs from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. each day, ensuring a focused yet accessible schedule for families across Central Virginia.
Building a Future in Flag Football
Beyond the immediate training, the camp aims to create lasting pathways for participants, highlighting the sport’s surge in popularity and the emerging opportunities for scholarships, collegiate programs and professional leagues.
By partnering with local schools, sports facilities and community organizations, Future of Flag hopes to broaden its reach and foster a sustainable ecosystem for girls’ flag football in the region.
