Gallatin Ice is putting the finishing touches on a $8 million renovation of Haynes Pavilion in Bozeman, a project that will swell the venue’s seating capacity to 1,500 and mark the most substantial upgrades to the ice rink in two decades.
The overhaul, completed after a spring and summer shutdown, adds a host of new amenities including modern benches, an expanded executive suite, a full‑service restaurant and pub, a mezzanine level, upgraded locker rooms and restrooms on the west side, an additional 300 seats and a new video board on the east side.
With the work now complete, the pavilion is poised to open its doors as the local hockey season kicks off in September, delivering a refreshed experience for players and fans alike.
The renovation represents phase two of the ‘Finish the Ice Barn’ initiative, a broader vision that includes a central entryway, new offices and a rental skate area slated for future development.
Community Impact and Future Plans
Fundraising continues through Gallatin Ice, and donors can claim naming rights for the newly installed blue seats, granting five years of first‑access to season tickets; Jeffrey Moore, the organization’s philanthropy director, highlighted the community’s role in making the project possible.
