The Gardner‑area high school baseball circuit closed out the spring 2026 season with a mix of breakthroughs and rebuilding efforts, each team leaving its own imprint on the local landscape.
Gardner finished the regular season second in the Mid‑Wach C league at 11‑7, earned a spot in the state tournament and broke a 13‑year playoff drought by defeating Lunenburg in the opening round. The victory was anchored by senior pitcher Andrew Beauregard, who finished the year 7‑2 with a 2.57 ERA.
Cam Gamache was the offensive catalyst for Gardner, topping Central Mass. with a .634 batting average and driving in key runs throughout the campaign. The team’s depth was further bolstered by contributions from players such as J.J. Walker and Will Gage, who provided steady defense and timely hitting.
Narragansett also secured a tournament berth, finishing 10‑7 and dropping into Division 4. Pitcher Preston Denio‑O’Connor went 4‑1 with a 2.67 ERA, while Brayden Richards hit .370, added 14 RBIs and a home run, underscoring the team’s balanced attack.
Oakmont placed third in the league at 11‑9, with Tyler Yonkers leading the charge at .346 and 7 RBIs. Quabbin, seeded No. 40 in Division 4, leaned on Alijah Flint’s .455 average and 8 RBIs, while Monty Tech, the No. 44 seed in Division 3, posted a 10‑8 record and showed steady improvement.
Murdock’s season ended without a win, finishing 0‑16. Despite the tough record, the squad highlighted emerging talents such as Adam Adams, Nate Snoonian and Syris DeFelice, who gained valuable experience for future seasons.
Across the board, the 2026 campaign highlighted the rising talent in the region, with standout performances from prospects like Brodhi Byars, Evan St. Hilaire, Levi Woertz and Quinn Brimhall, all of whom are expected to play larger roles in the coming years.
