A focus on development
Head coach Jim Chester unveiled a comprehensive overhaul of the baseball program’s staff, positioning the 2027 season as a pivotal moment for strategic growth and on‑field competitiveness.
Toby Boevers, formerly with Oklahoma State Athletics and a graduate of the University of Wisconsin‑Superior, steps into the role of Director of Operations. His blend of administrative experience and student‑athlete background is expected to streamline day‑to‑day program logistics.
Brady Doorey, a Florida Southern College alumnus who guided his team to NCAA Regionals during his playing days, joins as Director of Player Development. His firsthand understanding of high‑level competition should inform player progression pathways.
Milton Dauber comes aboard as Director of Pitching Development after serving as Director of Analytics and Scouting at Stetson University. His analytical approach to pitcher performance is geared toward refining the staff’s overall effectiveness.
Adding to the mix, former Runnin' Bulldog Devin Pressley returns as Assistant Director of Pitching Development. After a six‑year pitching career from 2021 to 2026 and a recent Master’s in Business Administration from Gardner‑Webb, Pressley brings both on‑field insight and business acumen.
Coach Chester expressed confidence that the new cohort’s professional pedigrees and work ethic will elevate the program, stating that the staff’s combined expertise aligns perfectly with the university’s ambition to compete at the highest collegiate level.
