The Garner Nationals proved unstoppable at the American Legion state tournament held in Gastonia, North Carolina. Competing under the banner of Area I, the team went undefeated throughout the event, showcasing a blend of disciplined pitching and timely hitting that left opponents scrambling.
Undefeated Champions of Area I
In the championship game, Garner faced Union County and pulled away with a 10-5 victory, capping a flawless tournament run. The win not only crowned them state champions but also earned them a berth in the prestigious Southeast Regional, which will be staged in Cherryville.
The Southeast Regional will bring together teams from across the Southeast and beyond, including representatives from Ohio, Puerto Rico, Virginia, South Carolina, West Virginia and Florida. Each squad will battle for a chance to advance to the national finals, making the tournament a showcase of the region’s top youth baseball talent.
Adding to the local excitement, the Mid‑South Regional will also be contested in both Cherryville and Gastonia, giving fans in the area multiple opportunities to see high‑level play close to home. The upcoming events promise intense competition and a chance for Garner to extend its winning streak on a larger stage.
