Gaven French, a 2027 baseball commit from Heritage High School in Maryville, Tennessee, has earned a place on the Tennessee Sports Writers Association’s Class AAA All‑State Team, a distinction that highlights his standout performance this season.
A Dual‑Threat on the Diamond
The rising senior helped his team capture its first ever berth in the TSSAA Class AAA state tournament, a milestone that has energized the school’s baseball program.
At the plate French posted a .463 batting average, collecting 62 hits, 17 home runs and 16 doubles, while driving in 56 runs and walking 48 times.
On the mound he went 9‑1 with a 1.18 ERA, striking out 109 batters in 65.1 innings and posting a WHIP well under 1.00.
Coach Josh Elander announced French’s commitment to the University of Tennessee on November 5, 2025, after the prospect received offers from Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Vanderbilt and Clemson.
