Collinsville’s standout season fuels a wave of All‑State selections across northeast Alabama

The Alabama Sports Writers Association announced that Gavin Lang of Collinsville has been selected as the Class 3A Baseball Player of the Year, capping a season in which he batted .596, drove in 61 runs and struck out 105 batters while posting a 3.14 ERA on the mound.

Lang’s contributions helped the Panthers close the year with a 26‑7 record, and his name appeared alongside teammates Jeremiah Killian and Mason McAteer on the first‑team All‑State roster.

Regional All‑State Honors

Other northeast Alabama programs also received recognition, with Piedmont’s Cole Austin earning first‑team pitcher honors after a 1.90 ERA, Cherokee County’s Cam Mayo landing on the second team with a 2.29 ERA, and Spring Garden’s duo Brady Ruark and Joel Hunter joining him on the second‑team list. Ben Baker of Spring Garden added a .419 average and 32 RBIs to the mix.
