A Legacy Rekindled
George Brooks has etched his name into New York high school baseball lore, having captured state titles in 2014 and 2015 while steering Hoosic Valley to back‑to‑back championships, and again in 2022 when he guided Averill Park’s Golden Knights to their first crown in five seasons.
This spring the program returns with a fresh batch of seniors who have spent their entire high school careers under Brooks’ tutelage, a cohort that has grown up hearing his championship mantra and is now hungry to translate that legacy into another title.
Brooks, known for his meticulous preparation and ability to extract the utmost from his players, emphasizes discipline, teamwork and a relentless pursuit of excellence, qualities that have become the hallmark of every squad he has coached.
