Free tickets for all undergraduates
Georgetown University announced that, starting with the 2025‑26 season, every undergraduate will receive a complimentary ticket to each men’s basketball game, including marquee matchups against the University of Maryland and North Carolina.
The decision comes as the school works to expand its traditionally reserved student sections — historically sections 104‑107 at Capital One Arena — to accommodate an undergraduate population that now exceeds 7,000, ensuring that the vibrant campus crowd can fill the arena.
A roster built for competition
Head coach Ed Cooley, who has guided the team through a period of transition, says the recent additions of players such as NJ Benson and several impactful transfers give the squad depth and talent that could make this the most competitive group of his tenure.
Previously, students paid a subsidized fee of $99 for a full season, a price that undercut the cost of individual tickets for marquee games; the new policy eliminates that barrier and signals a broader commitment to student engagement.
