Georgetown University’s men’s and women’s soccer teams have been named recipients of the 2025‑26 College Team Academic Awards presented by the United Soccer Coaches.
Award Criteria
The honor is bestowed upon teams that post an overall grade point average of at least 3.0 across all roster members, underscoring a commitment to both athletic and academic excellence.
Nationwide, 777 collegiate programs earned the distinction, with 326 women’s squads and 451 men’s squads making the list.
Georgetown stands out as one of only 175 institutions where both the men’s and women’s programs received the accolade, highlighting the university’s consistent academic standards.
The women’s team celebrated its 23rd award, extending a streak that began 13 years ago, and posted a 3.71 team GPA this season.
The men’s side earned its 20th award, marking the 12th straight year of recognition, and recorded a 3.57 team GPA.
These achievements place Georgetown among a small cohort of schools that excel simultaneously on the scoreboard and in the classroom, reinforcing the program’s dual‑focus philosophy.
