Head coach Mike White has been candid about the root causes of those losses. He points to off‑court distractions and the upheaval created by the transfer portal as factors that eroded focus during critical moments. "When you’re juggling personal matters and constant roster churn, the mental bandwidth needed for tournament intensity gets stretched thin," White said in a recent interview.
The roster overhaul reflects both loss and continuity. Key contributors such as Jeremiah Wilkinson, Somto Cyril, Jake Wilkins, Jordan Ross and Dylan James entered the portal, while returning starters Blue Cain, Marcus Millender, Kanon Catchings and Kareem Stagg opted to stay. This blend of experience and new talent sets the stage for a different approach to chemistry and accountability.
Adding nine newcomers, including transfer guards Freddie Dilione V and Kemauri Millender, forwards Brady Dunlap and Andrew Osasui, and center James Scott, gives the staff a fresh toolbox. The coaching staff is emphasizing disciplined preparation and a culture that rewards consistency, hoping the new pieces will click before the next tournament cycle.
If the Bulldogs can translate their offseason work into sustained focus, the upcoming season could mark a turning point.
