Georgia's Playoff Outlook
USA TODAY Sports analysts Blake Toppmeyer and John Adams have mapped out the 12‑team College Football Playoff field, identifying the Georgia Bulldogs as a top contender from the Southeastern Conference.
John Adams placed Georgia as the fifth team in the projected bracket, trailing only Miami, Notre Dame, Texas and Oregon, a placement that reflects the Bulldogs' strong returning core and a comparatively manageable schedule.
The Bulldogs bring back a wealth of experience from the 2024 championship squad, though they will need to fill gaps at wide receiver. Their depth at tight end and running back, however, remains among the nation's most potent.
Blake Toppmeyer labeled Georgia the safest bet among SEC teams, calling it the program's strongest lineup since 2023 and highlighting a schedule that avoids the conference's other playoff‑bound rivals.
