The University of Georgia’s football team is set to take the field in a striking all-white uniform ensemble for its September 12 home game against Western Kentucky, marking the first regular-season appearance of such a look for the Bulldogs.
A White-Out for the Bulldogs
Coach Kirby Smart unveiled the plan during a team meeting on the eve of preseason camp, presenting the fresh white kits to players KJ Bolden and Lawson Luckie, who responded with enthusiastic approval and a few light‑hearted jokes about the long‑standing request.
The announcement was accompanied by a video posted to the NIL platform ‘Glory Glory’, where Smart explained that the uniform would be granted if fans succeeded in tripling their subscriptions, a promise he had floated earlier in the spring.
Fans answered the call, prompting Smart to honor the pledge and allow the Bulldogs to wear the white uniforms for a single game, a limited-time experiment that underscores the growing interplay between on-field tradition and off-field revenue initiatives.
Georgia has previously experimented with white attire during recruiting visits and wore black jerseys in the 2020 season against Mississippi State and Cincinnati, but this will be the first time the Bulldogs field an all-white uniform in a regular-season contest.
The white uniforms will be confined to that September 12 matchup, after which the team will revert to its customary gear, leaving the experiment as a notable footnote in the program’s sartorial history.
