A Georgia man, Terrell Williams, has been charged with burglary and money laundering after allegedly breaking into the home of former NASCAR driver Greg Biffle following a tragic plane crash that claimed the lives of Biffle and his family.
According to prosecutors, Williams seized roughly $30,000 in cash, two Glock handguns, assorted NASCAR memorabilia, and a collection of gold and silver coins before fleeing the scene. Investigators recovered a radio‑frequency detector in the wreckage, suggesting he used the device to locate hidden security cameras during the raid.
Broader Criminal Pattern
The case took a broader turn when authorities linked Williams to a separate burglary in North Carolina that targeted the residence of a hospital‑employed law enforcement officer. That incident, combined with a pattern of online fraud, painted a picture of a coordinated effort to exploit vulnerable victims.
Financial Exploitation
Digital evidence revealed that personal data from Biffle’s bank, Venmo and PayPal accounts had been harvested and used to siphon funds across state lines. At least one fraudulent check was cashed, and additional attempts were made to access accounts tied to the former driver’s business interests, prompting a multi‑state investigation.
Arrest and Detention
Williams was taken into custody in July 2026 and has been held without bond in Cobb County, Georgia, where he now faces a slate of felonies including second‑degree burglary, safe cracking and money laundering.
