A Georgia man identified as Terrell Williams has been charged with a string of felonies after breaking into the home of former NASCAR driver Greg Biffle just days after the tragic plane crash that claimed the lives of Biffle’s wife and son.
A Calculated Crime
According to court filings, the intrusion occurred on January 8, 2026, when Williams allegedly forced his way into the residence in Statesville, North Carolina, after learning of the family’s death on December 18, 2025. He is accused of stealing roughly $30,000 in cash, two Glock handguns, a collection of NASCAR memorabilia, and several gold and silver coins.
Investigators say Williams employed a radio‑frequency detector to locate hidden security cameras, allowing him to evade alarm systems that were meant to protect the property.
The same suspect is also linked to a separate burglary involving a hospital security officer, suggesting a pattern of targeting high‑profile victims.

Beyond the physical theft, authorities uncovered a sophisticated fraud scheme that used stolen personal data to gain unauthorized access to Biffle’s bank, Venmo and PayPal accounts. The financial trail led across several states, with investigators tracing multiple attempts to move the illicit proceeds into accounts belonging to non‑family members. The scheme reportedly funded purchases of luxury items, underscoring the breadth of the deception.
