A Georgia man, identified as Terrell Williams, 44, has been charged with a string of felonies after breaking into the home of the late NASCAR driver Greg Biffle just days after learning that Biffle’s wife and two children had perished in a December plane crash.
A Targeted Crime
Authorities say Williams made off with roughly $30,000 in cash, two Glock handguns, assorted NASCAR memorabilia, and a collection of gold and silver coins, items that held both monetary and sentimental value for the Biffle family.
Investigators uncovered that Williams employed a radio‑frequency detector to locate hidden security cameras, a tactic that allowed him to navigate the residence undetected before the theft was discovered.
The probe also revealed that Williams had accessed the Biffles’ bank, Venmo and PayPal accounts using stolen personal information, moving the illicit proceeds through a network of transfers that spanned several states.
Although Williams is the primary suspect, officials have linked him to a separate burglary involving a law‑enforcement officer in North Carolina, raising concerns about a broader pattern of targeted thefts.
Cobb County police arrested Williams in July 2026 after the break‑in was reported, and the National Transportation Safety Board continues to investigate the December 18 crash that claimed the lives of Greg Biffle, his wife, and their two children.
