Commitment details
The Bulldogs have added a potent piece to their 2027 defensive front, securing the verbal commitment of Marcellus Young Casario, a 6‑foot‑6, 260‑pound prospect from Rabun Gap, Georgia.
Casario, a rising junior at Rabun Gap‑Nacoochee High School, posted a breakout 2025 campaign that included 14 tackles, three sacks, eight quarterback hurries, three deflected passes and a fumble recovery, numbers that helped him eclipse the radar of several Power Five programs.
He chose Georgia over a crowded list that featured Michigan State, Georgia Tech, Arkansas, Boston College, Iowa State, Kansas, Kansas State, Maryland, Miami, North Carolina, Penn State, Vanderbilt, Virginia Tech and Wake Forest, cementing his place as the second defensive lineman and the 16th overall pledge in the class.
The commitment comes as Georgia prepares for the opening game of the 2026 season, slated for September 5 at home against Tennessee State, a matchup that will give fans an early glimpse of the new‑look defensive line.
Local coverage of Casario’s ascent is tracked by MaxPreps, which has documented his rise from a high‑school standout to a nationally recognized recruit, while his high school, Rabun Gap‑Nacoochee, continues to develop talent for the collegiate ranks.
