Georgia Tech’s Baseball Boom: Five Players Named ABCA All-America
For the first time in school history, the American Baseball Coaches Association has honored five Georgia Tech players with All-America status, a milestone that underscores the program’s rising prominence.
Jarren Advincula, Drew Burress and Vahn Lackey earned first-team honors, while Carson Kerce and Ryan Zuckerman were placed on the third team, marking a rare concentration of talent recognized by the association.
The achievement ties the Yellow Jackets with the 1994 squad for the most first-team selections in program annals, a testament to sustained excellence.
Baseball America also listed Advincula, Burress, Lackey and Zuckerman among its All-America choices, reinforcing the consensus across publications.
Advincula paced Division I with 111 hits, Burress shattered the school home-run record with 60 career blasts, Lackey posted a .397 average with a .772 slugging percentage, Zuckerman led the BBCOR era in homers with 23, and Kerce set a single-season doubles record of 29.
These performances have drawn attention from professional scouts and cemented the players’ places in Tech lore, while also highlighting the program’s ability to develop elite talent.
