The Marblehead Youth Baseball Giants secured their second straight town championship, edging the Pirates 5‑2 in a tightly contested final.
Managed by Eric Weisman and assisted by Elias Demakes, the 11‑player squad built its success on a philosophy of relentless effort, teamwork and learning from mistakes.
A Season Defined by Growth
Eight of the twelve‑year‑old roster finished the playoffs with a perfect four‑game winning streak, positioning the Giants second in the regular standings behind the Pirates before their title run.
Pitching proved pivotal, with Charlie Demakes, Zach Weisman and Drew Butler each delivering key outings that helped swing the momentum in the Giants’ favor.
In the field, Holden Phelps handled catching duties while Cam Iannacci and Walker Booth split time at first base, and a rotating duo of Colin Gleason and Logan Litwin manned second base.
The outfield featured Butler and Iannacci in center, with Glavin and Litwin covering right field, while Murphy and Whyman saw action in left, showcasing the team’s depth and flexibility.
Weisman and Demakes, both two‑time champions, celebrated the victory as their sons — Zach Weisman and Cam Iannacci — prepare to move up to the Babe Ruth League next summer, promising continuity for the program.
Steve Gleason, father of Colin Gleason and an assistant coach this year, is slated to assume managerial responsibilities next spring, ensuring the team’s developmental pipeline remains strong.
Looking Ahead
With Cam Iannacci and Ronan Murphy poised to chase a third consecutive town title in 2027, the Giants’ coaching staff continues to stress growth both on the diamond and in life, a message that resonates throughout the Marblehead community.
