Manhattan College has named Giuseppe Papaccio as its new Associate Head Coach for baseball, a move that underscores the program’s ambition to elevate its competitive edge.
Papaccio arrives after a distinguished playing career in which he earned unanimous First Team All‑Big East honors as a shortstop for the Seton Hall Pirates and was recognized as the NJCBA Player of the Year with a .365 career batting average.
A Proven Track Record
During his tenure at Seton Hall, he helped develop six All‑Big East players, including Aiden Robbins, who posted a .422 batting average in 2025, and Devin Hack, who hit .439 in 2023.
At NJIT, Papaccio guided the Highlanders to multiple NCAA championship victories and set school records in offensive categories, showcasing his ability to transform programs.
His recruiting acumen also produced professional prospects such as AJ Soldra, now with the Los Angeles Dodgers, and Max Viera, who signed with the Toronto Blue Jays.
Head Coach Steven Rosen highlighted Papaccio’s “proven track record in player development and high‑level coaching” as the primary reason for the hire, noting the coach’s impact on offensive metrics like OPS, batting average and slugging percentage.
Rosen added that Papaccio’s first year at Seton Hall saw measurable improvements across the board, a trend he expects to continue with the Manhattan roster.
