A Strategic Addition for the Gladiators
The Atlanta Gladiators have locked in forward Max Neill for the upcoming 2026‑27 campaign, a move that underscores the club’s intent to bolster its offensive depth. The acquisition came via a trade with the Bloomington Bison, who sent defenseman Brenden Datema to Atlanta in exchange for the rights to Neill.
Neill, a native of Portage La Prairie, Manitoba, joins the Gladiators after two seasons of collegiate play that showcased his versatility. He previously earned professional experience with the Utah Grizzlies during the 2023‑24 season, where he contributed two assists in 17 games before returning to the Bison for a stint that saw him net five goals in 32 appearances.
The forward’s junior career was marked by strong performances at both Lindenwood University and the University of Waterloo. At Lindenwood, he recorded two points in the 2022‑23 season, while his breakout year at Waterloo saw him tally 19 points, including 10 goals, in the 2023‑24 campaign.
Gladiators general manager expressed confidence that Neill’s blend of size, work ethic, and offensive instincts will complement the team’s existing core. "Max brings a competitive edge and a proven track record at both the collegiate and professional levels," the GM said in a statement. The club hopes the new signing will help push the team deeper into the playoffs as they aim to defend their recent championship pedigree.
