Mike Sirant, the head coach of Glasgow Clan, is focused on taking the team beyond last season’s playoff run and into the Elite League Final. After a promising debut season that ended in the postseason, Sirant sees the upcoming campaign as an opportunity to chase a championship title.
The summer has been a blend of family time and strategic work. Sirant spent weeks in Winnipeg with his wife and children, recharging at their lake cabin while also scouting potential additions to the roster.
Recruiting the Next Generation
General Manager Zach Vinnell, who joined the Clan after stints as a player in Glasgow and Sheffield and an assistant role with Coventry Blaze, has been instrumental in shaping the roster. Together, Sirant and Vinnell have targeted younger, driven players who embody unselfish play, professionalism, and a commitment to personal growth.
Training camp will serve as the crucible for establishing the team’s systems and chemistry. Sirant believes that intensive sessions on the ice will cement the tactical frameworks and foster the relationships needed for sustained success.
A Methodical Path Forward
While the Elite League is renowned for its competitiveness, the Clan’s leadership remains pragmatic. They acknowledge the challenges posed by a deep talent pool but are prepared to meet each game methodically, focusing on incremental improvement rather than shortcuts.
