Glenn Hall has stepped into the role of head boys basketball coach at La Salle‑Peru, inheriting a program that finished last season with a 58‑39 record under John Senica, who guided the Cavaliers to three regional titles.
Summer Grind
Since the end of the school year, Hall has overseen intensive practices, strength workouts and a slate of competitive games against larger schools, using each matchup as a laboratory for his system.
The Cavaliers have traveled to DeKalb, Plano, Kaneland, Normal West, Rock Island and hosted Lincoln‑Way East and Kaneland, testing themselves against tougher competition.
A Young Roster
Only one starter returns from the previous lineup, and a handful of players have logged meaningful minutes, leaving Hall with a squad that is both inexperienced and eager to prove itself.
Hall believes the summer’s exposure will translate into confidence when the regular season begins, noting that the experience gained on the road will be invaluable.
Looking Ahead
The team will continue open gym sessions and weightlifting until classes resume, pause for a brief August break, and then reconvene in September with a clearer sense of identity. Hall also reflected on a friendly matchup with Luke Yaklich, his former high school coach, as a highlight of the preparation.
